Interests

Well, I must admit that I have lots of interests! In general, I have no time to fulfil them. My main interests can be divided into two categories: Sports and IT.

As far as I can remember myself, I was always exercising some sport. My first and main sport was, is, and will always be basketball! I have been playing since I was 10 years old, in the school's team in Belgium, continued playing in Greece again for my school's team. When I came to study in the UK I was selected from the first year in the University's first basketball team, for which I played for 4 years in Undergraduate and 1 year during my postgraduate degree. During that period, we managed to get twice to the quarter finals of the division. The year I was at Bath Uni, a severe injury at the start of the season kept me away from the courts for a couple of months. When I returned I played for the second team of the University and helped them to get to the semi-finals. During all these years I have gathered several medals from various tournaments.

The other sport I love is Ski (both in snow and sea). My first contact with ski was in 1990 during a school excursion in Alpes. This was a two weeks vacation along with my classmates full of skiing - an amazing experience! Water-ski came into my life a bit later, in the summer of 1994 when we bought a small chris-craft. I'm still practicing water-ski today at some lakes located at the north of Birmingham.

I also like playing football, volleyball (I also have a gold medal in a departmental University tournament in 2005 - thanks Ilias!) and handball (I also have a gold medal from a school tournament in Brussels in 1994 - long time ago, I know)

My other main area of interest; IT. Well, by surfing through this page you can get an idea. I was always fascinated from computers and the virtual worlds that they created. This lead me to the C.S. MSc where I got most of my knowledge about computers, coding and networking. You can check some programs I've written here along with some other applications I've created in my free time.
